What I’m Working On: Lost (and other stuff)

It turns out I haven’t put out a book since…*checks*…May! Turns out, I haven’t written anything either. My family had a rough year and while Beast did extremely well (THANK YOU to everyone who bought it), Gold did not, and I haven’t been able to afford the time off to write. In addition, the news that All Romance eBooks wouldn’t be paying me (and other authors) hit really hard, as I counted on that money.

I’ve been tackling the next Midsummer book off and on, and I think I might finally have a workable outline for it. At least I know where people are supposed to kiss, and that’s half the battle in an outline. So, at present, I’m working on Lost, which is my contemporary take on Hansel & Gretel (no incest, though). No release date and no preorder yet, but I’ll post when I’ve got some news.

Given that Beast did well, I’m looking at finally writing a particularly dark erotic thriller I’ve had percolating in my head for some time now. I’ll provide more details and teasers later, but for now I’ll just say that it’ll likely appeal to fans of Beast and Sympathy for the Devil, and will be a very non-traditional romance with a lot of heat between two people born of tragedy.

I’ve had a lot of visitors lately looking into what I have in the pipeline (more Stirling Falls, more Midsummer, and yes, yes, I know–more CATS), and I’m sorry I haven’t had more frequent, firm updates. I expected to release a lot last year and just sort of hit a wall. Hopefully being off readers’ radars for so long won’t negatively impact future sales too badly and I can get more works your way soon. Thank you for stopping by, your support keeps me going!

New Release: ALLEY CAT

The fourth Cats & Conjure book is here!

AlleyCat-Kindlet

Adelaide Deveraux has at last come into her powers, but her gifts have come with a price: she has lost the love of her life. Now surrounded by allies but still utterly alone, she’s seeking to build a new Sanctuary and provide shelter for those who need it, even though none of it will heal her broken heart.

Tiger-shifter Erik Wells was willing to sacrifice everything to save Addie from the psychopathic sorcerer after her, including his life. But despite paying the ultimate price and annihilating their enemy once and for all, he still isn’t at peace. Some greater power is seeking to resurrect Erik, willing to move heaven and hell to see him breathe again. Whether that power is good or evil, he doesn’t know, and he’s running out of time as something’s hunting him in the underworld, seeking to destroy his very soul.

This book hints a little more at the overall mythology coming into play (the next book reveals what Addie really is and what’s with all the cats) and introduces a new villain that will carry through the end of the series, so I’m quite excited about it.

To celebrate the release, the first novella Cats in Heat is now being serialized on Wattpad for free. If you’re a fan of the series and want to encourage others to give it a shot, I’ll be updating Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting today right here.

For those looking for more Midsummer books, Gold is out May 27 and will be up for pre-order soon (more about that next week).

I don’t have a release date yet for Cat’s in the Cradle, the fifth C&C book as explained in my 2016 release forecast. News when I have it!

Finally, my erotica writing buddy Aylia Ryvelt is promoting her new hate-to-love romance serial, Reunion. The first book, called Love & Hate, is currently free for a few days, and the second part, Hate So Sweet, is now available. (The third is coming soon.) Aylia is amazing–she was the force behind me finally publishing my work–so I encourage everyone to check her out.

*A note about this title being free…

It’s common with series to make the first free by the time there are four or so out, which is why I’ve chosen to do it with Cats in Heat. This title, however, is still under copyright.

Please only download the book from legal channels. The more downloads a book gets on legit sites, the higher the rankings in the the store, and the greater the visibility the book gets (and therefore new people hear about it).

All rights are reserved. The book may not be copied or distributed elsewhere without my permission. Thank you for respecting my rights.

New Pre-order: ALLEY CAT

The cats are back!

The fourth Cats & Conjure story is on its way in March.

To those who kindly didn’t send me hatemail for the ending of Stray Cat Strut: THANK YOU. I was tremendously proud of the ending of that story, as sad as it was, and I didn’t want anyone to wait another year for the next one. As I’ve said before, sales are always low with these ones, so I have to squeeze them in between other releases. There are two final books coming, hopefully by the end of the year, and then there’ll be a print collection of the final volume.

Here are the details!

I’m also halfway through the next Midsummer Suspense Tale, Gold, so stay tuned for that in the spring (and news about the future of the Midsummer Suspense series)!

Now Available: Cats & Conjure Vol One

If you haven’t caught up yet with the Cats & Conjure series yet, now’s your chance: the first boxset is available in ebook. This is the first three novellas all in one release, about 300 pages or 95K words.

The details:
Cats&ConjureVolI-lgAdelaide Deveraux has lived a quiet life in the country after inheriting her late grandmother’s home, but that life is interrupted when a tiger shows up at her door, shifting into a very injured—and very naked—human man in need of help.

Erik Wells has been on the run his whole life, now from the underground gladiator ring who abduct shifters and have them fight to the death for entertainment. Though he needs to keep running, but something about Addie draws him to her home and her care. The tiger in him senses it: there’s more to Addie than apparent at first glance—more to her knack for working with roots and herbs; more to her prophetic dreams; more to the secrets buried in her family history.

A bond they try to deny draws them together as Addie heals Erik, throwing the pair in the path of the psychopathic sorcerer hunting him. From there, the peril’s just beginning, for Addie is more powerful than anyone could’ve guessed and dangerous people seek to exploit her magic.

This volume contains Cats in Heat, Cat Scratch Fever, and Stray Cat Strut.

4-AlleyCatAnd no, this isn’t the end of Addie and Erik’s story–there are three more novellas I’m hoping to release this year. If you dig these books, please tell your friends and consider leaving reviews–they’re my lowest-selling titles (as much as I love them) and while I’m determined to finish the series for readers, I take a financial hit on each one. Any extra support the stories get, I greatly appreciate.
I hope to have news about Alley Cat VERY soon–I’m aiming for a late Feb/March release, but that’ll depend on how the writing of it goes.

New Release: BEAST

My last release of the year is here!

I’m really excited about this one, I had so much fun writing it and really love the story. I hope you do, too.

Please note that other than the first Cats & Conjure boxset in January, I do not have firm release dates at the moment. I have a few things in progress but I’m pretty burned out and I want to take the holiday off and spend time with my family before I look at things again and figure out what to work on.

Today there is also a Q&A with me at my friend Darien’s blog about Beast/Midsummer. Of Beast, Darien says: “And damn, this Beauty and the Beast story ain’t no Disney tale! Mystery, murder, action, and kink, I’m awed at what Asha pulled off here”  You’ll find the Q&A here.

Next Friday there will be a giveaway over at Romance Novels in Color celebrating the release of Beast, and I hope you join me.

If you missed the first three Midsummer Suspense Tales, the boxset is Kobo’s Double Daily Deal today only and you can get it for a discount. If you miss it, you can also get it on sale for 25% off at All Romance eBooks for another week.

Beast

BeastA scarred recluse hiding from his past…

Joseph Li has lived in hiding since he was fifteen years old. The son of dangerous mob boss known as The Dragon, he sought a life of his own and paid the ultimate price, ending up horribly burned over half of his body. He escaped when the world–and his mother–assumed he died in the fire, but is not without scars. Physically, he’s disfigured; mentally, he trusts no one and has become a shut-in living in the fringes of small towns until local interest drives him away.

The beautiful young housekeeper who is more than she seems…

Belladona Martin is a loyal employee of Seven Security, specializing in undercover work. When a local call girl comes to her for help after a prostitute turns up dead–one who worked at the Li mansion–with worries the scarred man living there killed her, Belle naturally takes the case. She slips into the persona of a housekeeper who provides “companionship” on the side, hoping to find evidence to convict the monster responsible for the crime.

Joseph believes he’s more beast than man, even as Belle’s presence gives him hope for redemption. But beyond the lies surrounding her identity that could destroy their budding relationship, a twenty-year-old secret is buried deep in Midsummer, one from Joseph’s past that might claim both their lives.
